From musical fruit to walking robots: Coolest Projects India returns to Hyderabad

Coolest Projects returned for its second year in India on Saturday 19 September, taking place in Telangana’s state capital Hyderabad once more.

This year’s India event brought together 326 young technology creators who showcased 132 projects: India’s young tech creator community is clearly growing stronger. From AI to hardware to the web, young people’s projects took on topics that mattered to them, covering the playful to the practical.

A showcase of standout ideas

Here are just a few of the creative projects young people shared on the day.

Vhedhya, Tanvi, Bhavani, and Sameeksha | Fruit keys — Advanced programming

Fruit keys is a project that turns fruit into a musical instrument. The team used a Raspberry Pi computer, a camera, and the software library OpenCV. Bananas work as virtual keys that trigger musical notes. An apple lets players switch between instrument sounds. It’s a fun example of how computer vision can create touch-free, interactive experiences.

Kumari, Bhoomika, and Shaurya | Kinetic care — Hardware

Kinetic care is a smart physical therapy system for use at home. A camera tracks the user’s movements, so they can play a therapy-based video game while they exercise. A wearable sensor watches for sudden or unsafe muscle movements. If it spots one, it sends a vibration alert straight away to help prevent injury. The project shows how hardware can make rehabilitation safer and more engaging.

Srishti, Kimaya | Chrome dino in real life — Games

This is a dinosaur-themed game with a motorised conveyor, moving obstacles, and increasing difficulty. Players dodge obstacles using a button while LEDs and sound effects create an arcade experience. High scores unlock rewards!

A day to remember

Bringing Coolest Projects to India for a second year showed us just how much creativity and ambition exists among young people here. Every project represented hours of learning, problem-solving, and imagination, and it’s a privilege to give these creators a platform to be seen and celebrated.

Events like this shine a light on why investing in young people’s digital skills matters so much for India’s future.

What stood out to us most this year was the breadth of ideas on display, and the confidence with which these young tech creators presented their work. It’s a strong signal of where India’s next generation of creative thinkers and problem-solvers is heading.

A huge thank you to our partner Code Club India for their support with this event, to the volunteers and mentors who made the day possible, and to our sponsors Qube Research and Technologies. And most of all we want to thank every young creator who showed up ready to share and connect with their community. We can’t wait to see what you build next.
